Day 1

Your transport from San Jose to Tortuguero will be with an experienced naturalist, bilingual guide.
Beginning our journey in the city of San José, we make our way on Route 32 (San José -Limón) all around us are fields of cultivated coffee, past villages near the Braulio Carrillo National Park. Passing by this beautiful park we observe the flora y fauna of the cloudy rain forest, you can see lovely waterfalls and rivers in the route.
Arriving in Guápiles, we will be delighting ourselves with a wonderful Costa Rican breakfast or a continental breakfast, if you prefer.
Continuing the trip along the highway to Limón we pass by plantations of pineapples and upon arriving in Siquirres, we have the opportunity to see the process and parking of the bananas for shipment.
Arriving at Caño Blanco is where you begin the adventure of traveling down the rivers Reven Tazón and Parismina abd appreciate the river mouth as it enters the Caribbean Sea.
Traveling this route by boat allows you to see some reptiles, birds, as well as other animals of the tropical rain forest.

Upon arriving in Tortuguero you will get settled in convenient, comfortable cabins according to your likes and needs, which may include meals if that is what you desire.

3:00 As soon as you are settled in you rooms, for the afternoon we will have a tour of the village, visiting the elementary school and high school among other places and discussing the customs of the area.

The night is free - except when it is the time of the spawning of the turtles when you will have a tour on the beach to see the Leatherback or the Green Turtle as she lays her eggs. These months are: Leatherback- March to May and Green Turtles – July to October.

Day 2

7:00 Breakfast
8:00 We will have Morning Tour of the canals of the National Park in canoe or electric/ 4 stroke motor boat based on your choice.
You are obligated to pay the entrance fee to the Park at the cost of $10US per person
