The EcoDollar project, once coordinated by the local committee JAET (Juntos Ayudando Educación Tortuguero), and presently by local education advocate, Antoinette Gutierrez of the Jungle Shop, began in May of 2006 with the aim of providing funds for the local
educational institutions in the small village of Tortuguero, Costa
Rica.

describe the process, the people involved, and the successes of the
project thus far.
