My name is Isabelle Corneo Gauthier, I was born in Québec, Canada. My father is Italian and my mother is French Canadian. We came to live in Costa Rica when I was 2 years old. I grew up in the mountains close to what today is known as “The Children’s Eternal Forest”. After working in the exportation business and different fields of the tourism industry, I became a naturalist guide in 1997. When I first started to work in Tortuguero, this area became an open classroom for me. Here I have learned about the rain forest and all its treasures. Later I extended my horizon to other parts of our beautiful “Rich Coast”. The richness of our little piece of paradise never ceases to impress me, and the funny thing is that once you start to learn about the biodiversity and the interaction between the species, it becomes almost an addiction to always learn more. Everything has a story to tell you; about the way it was born, what it feeds on, how it reproduces and how you can use it. I also learn about geology and history among other things… I feel so blessed to live in a country were people are happy and peaceful; where more then 25% of the land is under some kind of conservation program. Today, with all the craziness of the modern world, Costa Rica is a refuge for those who want to take a break and experience a reconnection with mother earth. From a young age I learned to appreciate nature and every thing that surrounds me. Let me share with you my passion for Costa Rica, its people and its amazing forest… Tours in Tortuguero:“Wandering” through the forest
