about tours available in Tortuguero
A 3 hour-tour with a canoe through the smaller canals, starting at 6am to 9am, for an optimal chance to see the birds and wildlife. You will have a chance to see toucans, sloths, monkeys, caimans, snakes, and more. Bring your camera!
$20 USD per person, plus entrance to the National Park $10 per person
A 1.5-2 hour walk through part of the National Park located outside of our pueblo. For environment and plant lovers.
$15 USD per person, plus entrance to the National Park $10 per person
A 2-hour walk up and down a steep hill in the jungle, rewarded by a gorgeous view over Tortuguero and the surrounding area. If so desired, you can take some time to explore the neighboring pueblo, San Francisco, as well.
$20 USD per person (transfer to Tortuguero Hill included)
Available during turtle season (late March - November). 1-2 hours walk on the beach to look for and at the turtles digging a nest and laying eggs. Either 8-10pm or 10pm-12am, subject to the decision of the National Park.

ATTENTION: If you book for June/July, you have a chance to see both the leatherback and the green turtle, and the mating of the turtles in the ocean (special tour). At the end of the season from September to November you will also have a chance to see baby turtles coming out of the eggs. (Special tour - $15 USD per person at sunrise or sundown)
If so desired, we can book your tour with a specialist, botanist or biologist, in which case we will have to find you an empty spot in THEIR schedules and book your stay around that.
There is also opportunity to do a CANOPY TOUR for $35 USD per person, or a FISHING TOUR (ocean or river) with prices beginning at $60 USD per person per day. (Ask for more information)
We also have possibilities for you to RENT KAYAKS AND CANOES.
If so desired, we can also book your trip to MOIN, LIMON, CAHUITA, PUERTO VIEJO, or to LA FORTUNA, when you're ready to leave Tortuguero.
I am also available for TRANSLATION during tours and your initiation into Tortuguero daily life!
